West Roxbury Reads (WRR) is a signature activity of the Friends of the West Roxbury Branch Library. Held in the spring, this biennial event brings together residents of West Roxbury and beyond in celebration of a community-wide read.
One book is chosen by a committee of Library Friends for the community to read together, and its author is invited to speak as the highlight of a one-month round of programming of events and activities related to the book selection. Past book selections include, These Truths, A History of the United States by Jill Lepore, March by Geraldine Brooks, In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan and The Giver by Lois Lowry, among others.
